I admit it: I'm a total geek. I love electronics, programming, 3D printing, 3D art, and vintage Apple hardware. I'm always juggling half a dozen projects. I also enjoy documenting it all: my successes, my failures, my experiences... and everything geeky along the way.

Prayer

With all the old renders out of the way, it was time to start something new. The creative juices are flowing, and I’m on a roll. (That, and with no electronics project in the works, what else am I going to do?) Read More...

Sun Kissed

blogEntryTopper
This is the final render in a short series of old renders that I never had the time to finish..until now. I was so busy with other projects over the past few months that I got in the nasty habit of starting a new render without finishing the last. An idea would pop in my head and I’d start something new without finishing the old one. Read More...

Do You Still Love Me?

blogEntryTopper
I had a blast making my “Cyborg” and “You Gonna Stop Me?” renders. There were actually a few more experimental renders in the mix that I never finished. I figured since I was between projects, I’d revisit some older unfinished renders and see it I could make something out of them. Read More...

You Gonna Stop Me?

blogEntryTopper
I was so happy with the way that my last sci-fi render came out, I figured that I do another one. I just love the way that the lighting came out. Read More...

Cyborg

blogEntryTopper
While I’m working on other projects, it’s always nice to have a render running in the background. That, and might as well have the computer do something while I’m sleeping. Read More...

Walking the Garden

I sort of cranked the last one out. I’m going to take my time with this one. Read More...

They're Coming With Me

blogEntryTopper
I’ve had the GIS Biosuit for a long time, I’ve just never gotten around to using it. It wasn’t until now that I realized it doesn’t work with the Iray render engine. Read More...

Creation

blogEntryTopper
We’ve all seen Michelangelo’s famous “The Creation of Adam” fresco that is part of the Sistine Chapel's ceiling. It’s such a famous and iconic painting, that I wanted to do my own rendition. With a touch of sci-fi and fantasy, I think my modern-day rendition came out fantastic! Read More...

Centurion

This is part of a larger render that I never finished. I figured I'd go back and play with this character just for fun. Read More...

Art Studio

blogEntryTopper
I envisioned an art studio render a long time ago. I wanted to create a piece that featured a model being painted, and that you could see her being painted on canvas. Very rarely do I nail a render I sat down to create. I usually start with an idea, and then go off on a tangent and create something totally different. I think it came out amazing. I'm really liking the new Iray render engine and can't wait to see what else I can do with it. Read More...

The Journey

blogEntryTopper
It's been a long time since I've done a full-on render chock full of goodies. The last one was probably Pirates! I love doing these types of renders that have just a ton of stuff to look at. Read More...

A Portrait In White

blogEntryTopper
I started this render months ago, but I just couldn't decide on the direction. I liked the pose, but just couldn't nail the background. I ended up shelving it for several months. One day while looking at it again, I thought about doing something totally different. Read More...

Walking the City Streets

blogEntryTopper
My last render of the year. I think it came out great. It's so bright and sunny. Must be a beautiful day to walk the streets of the city.

Tattoos

blogEntryTopper
I didn’t what this one to be nudity for the sake of nudity, so I want to try something new. I wanted to try and add some tattoos in post. I also wanted this to look sort of like a ‘60s / ‘70s vintage pinup, so I used some vintage filters to give it an aged look. I think it came out pretty good. Read More...

Green Eyes

blogEntryTopper
I was pretty happy with the way that my last render came out. I had taken several renders with totally different light settings and stacked them up in Pixelmator using different layer settings and opacities. It was an interesting experiment. When it comes to post-work, I usually only add special effects, vignette, bokeh, etc. I usually do all the lighting in DAZ Studio. I’ve never thought to play with the lighting in post. Layering multiple renders makes for some interesting results. It’s something I wanted to explore some more.

Chair Pose

blogEntryTopper
This was an interesting experiment. I usually try my best to get all the lighting perfect on the final render, but layering different renders together with totally different light settings can make for some interesting results. Read More...

Stargazer

Time for another render. Something with a little more nudity than I normally do. So yeah, this one’s nudity for the sake of nudity. But it’ll be cool nonetheless. Read More...

First Love

blogEntryTopper
Another render that sort of came out of nowhere. I forgot I had this Happily Ever After dress for V4. I hate using V4, but with the autofit tool, it fits Victoria 6 no problem. I threw in the Regency Cottage and a DAZ Horse 2. This one came out pretty good considering I was just messing around. Read More...

The Dinner Party

blogEntryTopper
DAZ has been giving away some freebies throughout the Summer. I managed to score a few free food packs and some table wear. I figured a nice dinner scene would be a good excuse to use up some of the food items. Read More...

The Fountain of Healing

I picked up this cool Fountain of Health prop 4 months ago, but haven’t gotten the chance to use it yet. I figured today was as good a day as any. Read More...

We Give Our Thanks

blogEntryTopper
This one just sort of came to me out of nowhere. I was playing with Zev0’s Skin Builder and came up with a pretty dark skin texture. I thought Victoria looked great with a really dark skin texture. She looked pretty good in the Pirates! render. I decided to drop Michael 5 in and apply the Benjamin texture for a nice duo. Read More...

Misc Sketches and Incomplete Works

blogEntryTopper
I just wrapped up another render and completed another clock project. After a few busy weeks at work, and a week in Florida, I was excited to get the creative juices flowing again. I just can’t sit still. I always have to work on something, draw something, or make something. I figured now was a good time to post a bunch of sketches and incomplete works. Maybe having another look at them will inspire me to finish one of them. Or at minimum, use one of them as the starting point for something completely new. Read More...

Pirates!

blogEntryTopper
I picked up some cool pirate outfits not too long ago. Since my wife and I just watched a Pirates of the Caribbean marathon, I thought it was appropriate to fire off a pirate-themed render. I guess it’s nice to take a break every now and then from sexy girls in skimpwear to try something new. Not that I mind sexy girls in skimpwear. I have to admit, this was a very involved and complicated scene. It took almost 2 weeks and about 30 renders before it was complete. I used more props than I can count; not to mention the 27 figures I used that are all fully dressed. Read More...

Asian Sun

It's been a while since I've worked on a render. I've just been so busy with other projects. Not to mention, I spent a week in Florida on vacation. Nevertheless, it’s time to get back into the swing of things! Read More...

DAZ Dragon 3

blogEntryTopper
I picked up the Millennium Dragon 2 last August when the price dropped to that which I couldn't refuse. However, I don't think I've done a single render with a dragon yet. I had a lot of stuff in mind, but never got around to any of them. Here we are 9 months later, and DAZ just dropped the Dragon 3. And it's awesome!

First Encounter

blogEntryTopper
I’m continuing my foray into Sci-Fi with this M6 and V6 duo. I wanted to do something where I could shrink down Victoria and display her as a cute little alien. Something simple and not too over-the-top. Read More...

Surveillance

blogEntryTopper
I figured I’d take a break from the fantasy renders and try my hand at some Sci-Fi stuff. I haven’t really put the Creature Creator for Genesis 2 Female through its paces. So this might be a good change to come up with some cool looking aliens. Read More...

The Maiden

Maybe she’s just a maiden of the house. Maybe Michael is the lord, and he just takes what he wants. Whatever the case, she looks more than willing to accept Michael’s advances. Read More...

HD Michael and Victoria

blogEntryTopper
DAZ 3D released some HD morphs and textures for Michael and Victoria today. They look amazing. It’s just unfortunate that they have to be purchased separately. You’d think at this point that this level of quality would be standard, but I guess DAZ has to make their money too. Not that I’m knocking the standard versions. Looking at renders of Michael 6 and Victoria 6, it’s hard to imagine that they could look any better.

I’m going to do a lot of side-by-side comparisons between the standard-issue M6 and V6 and the new HD versions. I’ll give you the head’s up now, some of theses renders are NSFW. Read More...

The Ranger Bundle is a brand new release. It’s comprised of a Ranger outfit, Ranger hair, Ranger props, and archery poses. Since I scored a 50% off coupon from DAZ, I just had to have it! Read More...

Victoria 6 Pro Bundle

blogEntryTopper
The Victoria 6 Pro Bundle usually goes for $124.95. I managed to get it for $25 bucks after a few discounts. The Victoria 6 Pro Bundle is packed with goodies: poses, hair, characters, and clothes. It’s a solid purchase. Between Stephanie 5 and Victoria 6, I think the days of me using Victoria 4 are over!
