Michael 6 Pro Bundle

Michael 6 was finally released today. Just like the banner says.... I was glad I powered up.

M6

The bundles went on sale with an introductory 51% off. With the additional 30% off coupon I received from the PC Anniversary MEGA PRIZE, I scored the Pro Bundle for $42.86. Not bad at all. I still think they should have given us Michael 6 for free as the MEGA PRIZE, but I can live with a $125 Pro Bundle for $43 bucks.

M6

The Pro Bundle is comparably priced to the Victoria 6 bundle. However, as some users in the DAZ forums were very quick to point out, the V6 bundle came with a few more items. I’m not one to go tit-for-tat. I’m pretty happy with the selection in the Pro Bundle. There’s a nice mix of fantasy and everyday stuff, as well as multiple characters and hair.

I also picked up the Genesis 2 Male Morphs Bundle for $11.30. It’s normally $32.95, but again, I was able to also use the MEGA PRIZE coupon combined with the introductory sale price. The two characters, Brandon and Logan, both need the morphs. Without the morphs, they’re basically just skin textures.

Here’s M4, M5, and M6 side-by-side. What a huge difference M6 is. M4 was in a league of his own, just like Victoria 4. M5 is based off Genesis, and Michael 6 is based off the new Genesis 2 Male form. That’s what makes him look so lifelike.

From DAZ:

With over 2,000 more polygons than even the Genesis base had, the detail levels on some of the most critical body parts, like faces, feet, hands, as well as knee and elbow joints, produce a much more realistic end product.

M6 vs M4 and M5

Just like Victoria 6, there’s three levels of sub-surface shading available by default: 25%, 50%, and 75%

Let’s see how that renders out. I don’t know if it’s the latest build of DAZ Studio or if it’s the subsurface shader, but I get some weird skin artifacts when I render images very small. This image was rendered at 620 x 620 and there’s some weird marks on the skin. It doesn’t show up on larger renders, so I don’t know what it is.

There’s a hair and no-hair option, as well as some various eyes colors: brown, blue, green, along with various reflection options.

I had the lights jammed up a little too high on this one, but you get the idea. These are the three hair options that come with the bundle: Basic Hair, Casual Long Hair, and Micah hair. The Micah Hair actually comes with a prop for both Michael and Victoria, as well as a light setup. However, all the other hair fits Victoria just fine with the auto-fit feature.

In addition to the Michael base, the bundle also comes with “Brandon” and “Logan” characters.

Brandon is kind of a punk-rocker, goth type. He has several goth style makeup options, as well as some tattoos.

pastedGraphic
Of course, the makeup and tattoos are optional.

Next up is Logan. Just like Brandon, he comes with some eyeliner options and tattoos. However, not as goth as Brandon. Funny how DAZ thinks. I guess all white dudes are punk rockers and surfers.
pastedGraphic
Again, makeup and tattoos are optional.

As far as outfits, there’s a nice mix of fantasy and everyday stuff. The shorts shown above came with the bundle. They are part of the MMA Shorts and Gloves outfit.

Another everyday item is the Newport Outfit. Just a shirt, a pair of pants, and some shoes. Nothing fancy.

pastedGraphic

The bundle also comes with snazzy-looking uniforms. It’s actually a pretty nice mix. There are several different hat styles. As far as the coats, pants, and boots, they are all the same. It’s the material that’s different. There are 5 different styles and colors that you can mix and match. It also comes with a mustache.

As far as fantasy, the bundle comes with two options. First is the Voyager outfit.

pastedGraphic

Second, is the Order of the Wolf. This one’s probably my favorite. Too bad it didn’t come with a sword. I have plenty of weapons, but it would have been nice to have something that matched the armor.

pastedGraphic

The bundle also comes with some poses as well as two separate pose packs: Michael 6 Variety Poses and Everyday Male Poses for Michael 6. As with all Pro Bundles, it also comes with the genitalia. Other than porn and medical images, I don’t know what you’d need Michael’s junk for. It’s not like it fits under the clotting.

Overall, a very impressive character. The Genesis 2 Male character was also released for the occasion. The Genesis 2 Male Essentials is a separate download that you have to install to use Michael 6. You don’t realize how well refined M6 is until you see him side-by-side with the base character.

The G2M Essentials come with some surfer clothes and props, poses, and a Phillip texture.

All that free stuff in itself is pretty cool. Another neat thing about being based off Genesis 2, is that Victoria 6 can wear the outfits without any problems too. Here’s Victoria 6 wearing the Order of the Wolf and Michael 6 wearing the Ranger Outfit. It’s probably not the most appropriate outfit-swap, but it illustrates the point that it works. If M6 in a pair of bra and panties is your thing, Genesis 2 has you covered.
pastedGraphic
For that matter, Genesis clothes fit too via auto-fit, just like they do on Victoria. This is Michael wearing the Barbarian Warlord for Genesis outfit.

M6 Barbarian Overlord

Pretty sweet. I think it’s going to be all M6 and V6 going forward. Well, until The Freak 6 and Stephanie 6 come out...
