At last! The only Johnnie Walker that I haven't had a full bottle of is Platinum. I got a nice promotion at work, so my wife treated me to a bottle. It was a very nice surprise.



The packaging is very cool. It definitely feels like you got your $90 dollars worth.





The lid is pretty extravagant.



You have to push the button in on the front to release the little hooks on the side. The lid then lifts off. I've never seen a whiskey bottle with such engineering.



Ah! And there it is! An 18 year old bottle of Platinum.



It's such a nice looking bottle. I should have taken a side-by-side photo with the Black so you could see how much taller it is.





It's very good. Very smooth. Not as smooth as the Blue, but then again, is anything?

I told my wife that Platinum is the new Black. She just laughed and said, "Not at $90 a bottle it isn't!" I guess I have to agree with her. It's a nice treat, but not one I can have all the time. I've been keeping the bottle of Blue that I got for Christmas as my "Saturday night" drink. It's almost gone, so maybe I'll save the Platinum for Saturday nights and keep walking with Black during the week.
