The Glenrothes - Select Reserve

Whisky | Single Malt | SpeysideFor my 40th birthday, my parents treated me to four bottles of assorted whisky. I'll do a writeup for each one as I open them. First up is The Glenrothes Select Reserve. It's fantastic!
At $49.99, it has a good price point; not expensive like a Highland Park 15 or a Johnnie Walker Gold. $50 bucks seems to be my sweet spot. I don't blink at spending $50 bucks on a whisky. Anything above that and I start to look at online reviews.
I have to admit, I sort of turned my nose up at it at first for not having an age statement on it. After one taste, I didn't care about it. This is a fantastic whisky. It's rich, malty, and has a beautiful nose, as well as a great smokey finish. It does remind me a little of Highland Park.
Total Wine by me have a good four or five varieties. I'll just have to try them all!
