Highland Park Odin - 16-Year

Whisky | Single Malt | HighlandHappy Birthday to me! Today is my 40th Birthday. My wife proved once again that she is the best wife in the whole world! She bought me a bottle of Highland Park's Odin. The crown jewel of the Valhalla Collection. It costs a pretty penny. $369.99 to be exact. Only 17,000 bottles were made. It sold out pretty much the same week that it was released. I never thought I'd own one. Now, every time I look over at my whisky shelves, I'll see that black Viking ship and remember that I got it for my 40th. What an amazing gift.
Bottled at 55.8%, Odin is some pretty potent stuff. It's the strongest whisky I've tried. Boy, does it pack a punch!
The stands snaps shut and is secured with these little magnets.
Just like the
Johnnie Walker Blue I got last Christmas, I want this one to last a long time. I'm not going to just knock it back. This one is special, and I'm not likely to see it again. For that, I'll reserve this as my "Saturday night" whisky. One glass of it a week should be enough to keep it special, and make it last.
Oh, and how is it? It's amazing. It is a bold whisky, and not for the uninitiated. It's classic Highland Park, but with more kick.
