Highland Park Magnus

Whisky | Single Malt | HighlandOK, this is the Highland Park I've been waiting for. I know I cannot pass up a bottle, but I've had my eye out for this one. The cheapest Highland Park I can find around me is the 12-year, and even that costs $54 at my local store. I used to pay $45, but the price has been slowly creeping up. When Highland Park announced the new MAGNUS with an MSRP of $39.99, I got excited.
It's only available in the US, so for once, we get our hands on an exclusive.

So how is it? It's pretty damn good. It's very light in color; not like any of the other many Highland Parks that I've had. It has a very light flavor, similar to a 10 year Glenmorangie, but it has that signature smoky finish you'd expect from Highland Park. It's definitely a younger whisky, but at $40 a bottle you can't complain. I prefer the 12 year, but at $40 a bottle, this could definitely become my go-to everyday whisky.
