The Glenlivet 12-Year

The Glenrothes, it didn’t last long at all. We made another run to the local liquor store since Mom & Dad also needed some wine. I really was in the mood for something new. I’ve had pretty much everything there, so it was hard to make a choice. I’ve had The Glenlivet before, but in a
sampler. I wasn’t too thrilled with it at all. If memory serves, the 15 year was OK, but I wasn’t looking to drop a lot of money. I settled for a bottle of the 12-year just for kicks. I figured I’d give it another try.
Needless to say, my memory serves me well. This is such an entry-level, bland, and non-exciting whisky. It has absolutely no complexity at all. My Dad tried a wee dram and actually said he’d sooner go for a Johnnie Walker Red. That says it all in a nutshell. I’ve had my share of
lousy whiskies, so I can tell you it’s not bad whisky. It’s just not great.
