The Glenrothes 2001

Whisky | Single Malt | SpeysideThis is my 5th bottling from The Glenrothes, and I have to tell you…I’ve never had a bad bottle yet. Every one has been absolutely fantastic. I really love these guys.
This is the 2001 edition. Other than the 1998 edition, this is the only other Glenrothes I’ve had that has an age statement on the bottle. If memory serves, the 1998 was a little bitter on the finish. The 2001 is so much better. It was distilled in 2001 and bottled in 2013. So it’s technically a 12 year. The color is very similar to the Sherry Cask Reserve. I think it’s better than the 98. It’s fantastic stuff. I wish I did have a little of the Sherry Cask Reserve left to do a side-by-side.
