Glenmorangie - The Quinta Ruban 12-Year
Dec 22, 2015 Filed in:
Whisky | Single Malt | HighlandI haven’t had a Glenmorangie that I haven’t liked. Is this another hit?
At $50 a bottle, it’s $13 cheaper than the
Nectar D'Or 12-Year that I had 5 months ago. This one too is bottled at 46%. It’s also non chill-filtered. Seems like everyone’s advertising that fact nowadays. I guess the distilleries are finally listening to their customers. Maybe we’ll also see the end of over-priced select reserves with no age statements. Then again, I keep buying them don’t I?
Anyway…
From the site:
Aroma: Dark mint chocolate, tangerines and Seville oranges mingle with sandalwood and walnut before giving way to a spicy finish of pepper and nutmeg.
Taste: Mint chocolate and walnuts envelop the palate like velvet, laying the foundations for rose, Turkish delight and sweet Seville oranges.
Finish: Long lasting silky aftertaste leaving dark chocolate mints and traces of orange.
Wow, sounds like it’s all about the oranges!
Needless to say, this stuff is fantastic. This bottle didn’t last very long at all. Glenmorangie pulls through again with another solid bottling.
