For this render, I started off with Victoria 6 and gave her the
Caleb hair.
I played with some morphs, toned her up a bit, and gave her a pose. I decided very early on that this would be a totally nude render. I wanted to do something that would showcase what you can do with the
Skin Builder.
I had some wet maps that looked pretty cool too.
I liked the pose, but just couldn't nail the background. I tried mountains, rock formations, scenery, and dragons. I just couldn't decide on something that made a good fit. I ended up shelving this one for several months.
One day while looking at it again, I thought about doing something totally different. I decided to forgo creating a background altogether in favor of adding a simple backdrop in post. I also thought about playing around with the idea of making her completely white.
I fired up Skin Builder again and gave her a pale texture. I made her nails white and her eyes black. I colored the hair white too.
I also added a new
body piercing that DAZ just released. A nose-to-ear chain looks pretty cool.
OK, that looks like something I can work with, but it still wasn't white enough. I needed to tweak my occlusion and sub surface colors.
I played around with the lights a little more and decided to add a few more body piercings. The set didn't come with any nipple rings, but there's nothing stopping you from resizing some earrings and moving them into position.
Much better, but I'm still not there yet. The occlusion color on my lights is still a little "pink".
One last tweak. I changed the pose so you could see the pubic hair created with the Skin Builder. I cropped the image to leave just a little something to the imagination and made the background white so I wouldn't end up with a dark outline on the final render
She's perfect. Could be fantasy, could be sci-fi. You decide.
I also made a clothed version so that I could post it in the DAZ 3D gallery.
This outfit is part of the
Angel of Retribution set. I just didn't add a texture.
I then took the render into Pixelmator and resized my canvas to 2560 x 1440.
I colored the background with a gradient fill and added some noise.
That definitely gives it a little bit of depth.
I then dropped in one of
Ron's Digital Energy .pngs.
I wanted it to look like it was passing around her, but not in front or behind her. For that, I needed to move the layer to the top…
…and then erase the areas that I didn't want. Now it looks like it goes over her arms, but behind her back. I then ramped up the exposure to make it white.
Using one of
Ron's Sci-Fi brushes, I painted in this cool looking circle of tiny squares and moved it to the foreground. I added just a hint of blur to the bottom to add just a little more depth.
And there it is.
As well as the safe-for-whatever version.
These images are pretty big, 2560 x 1440, so it's hard to see the detail when they're resized down to 620 x 348. So I made a portrait version just by cropping off the sides.
