I admit it: I'm a total geek. I love electronics, programming, 3D printing, 3D art, and vintage Apple hardware. I'm always juggling half a dozen projects. I also enjoy documenting it all: my successes, my failures, my experiences... and everything geeky along the way.

In My Mancave

blogEntryTopper
A few years ago, I came up with a cool idea for a render. I wanted to create a scene that showed Michael painting some Victoria figurines. He’d be sitting at a desk, with some sort of display cabinet behind him that would be full of all his creations. That idea has been on the back burner for a while now, so it was time to play around with some ideas and see if I could bring it to life. Read More...

Creation

blogEntryTopper
We’ve all seen Michelangelo’s famous “The Creation of Adam” fresco that is part of the Sistine Chapel's ceiling. It’s such a famous and iconic painting, that I wanted to do my own rendition. With a touch of sci-fi and fantasy, I think my modern-day rendition came out fantastic! Read More...

The Journey

It's been a long time since I've done a full-on render chock full of goodies. The last one was probably Pirates! I love doing these types of renders that have just a ton of stuff to look at. Read More...

The Dinner Party

blogEntryTopper
DAZ has been giving away some freebies throughout the Summer. I managed to score a few free food packs and some table wear. I figured a nice dinner scene would be a good excuse to use up some of the food items. Read More...

Misc Sketches and Incomplete Works

blogEntryTopper
I just wrapped up another render and completed another clock project. After a few busy weeks at work, and a week in Florida, I was excited to get the creative juices flowing again. I just can’t sit still. I always have to work on something, draw something, or make something. I figured now was a good time to post a bunch of sketches and incomplete works. Maybe having another look at them will inspire me to finish one of them. Or at minimum, use one of them as the starting point for something completely new. Read More...

Pirates!

blogEntryTopper
I picked up some cool pirate outfits not too long ago. Since my wife and I just watched a Pirates of the Caribbean marathon, I thought it was appropriate to fire off a pirate-themed render. I guess it’s nice to take a break every now and then from sexy girls in skimpwear to try something new. Not that I mind sexy girls in skimpwear. I have to admit, this was a very involved and complicated scene. It took almost 2 weeks and about 30 renders before it was complete. I used more props than I can count; not to mention the 27 figures I used that are all fully dressed. Read More...

Creature Creator for Genesis 2 Males

blogEntryTopper
It took 9 months, but DAZ finally put the wraps on the Creature Creator for Genesis 2 Males. Sure, you can make some non-gender specific looking creatures with the Creature Creator for Genesis 2 Females, but no matter how hard you try, there’s still some boobs that give it away. Maybe now with the Creature Creator for Genesis 2 Males, I’ll finally be able to make a convincing male zombie/monster/alien. Read More...

Insurrection on Deck 9

Just a little something I threw together to play with the stuff that came with the Sci-Fi Warrior Bundle that DAZ gave away for free. Read More...

Rock 'n Roller

blogEntryTopper
I finally got the chance to make something with some cool guitars and amps I picked up a while ago. Seems like my renders are all Victoria, Victoria, Victoria. (Not that I’m complaining.) I figured I'd make something with Michael 6 for a change. Read More...

Racer Girlz

I scored a bunch of really cool stuff during DAZ’s PC Anniversary last October. Even though I’ve had the props since October, I actually didn’t start playing around with them until December. So some of these renders have been a long-time coming. I’m really happy with the way that they came out. Read More...

First Encounter

I’m continuing my foray into Sci-Fi with this M6 and V6 duo. I wanted to do something where I could shrink down Victoria and display her as a cute little alien. Something simple and not too over-the-top. Read More...

The Maiden

blogEntryTopper
Maybe she’s just a maiden of the house. Maybe Michael is the lord, and he just takes what he wants. Whatever the case, she looks more than willing to accept Michael’s advances. Read More...

Barbarian Overlord

In order to showcase Michael 6, I had thrown together a few test renders. I decided to revisit one of those original renders in order to make it an aspect ratio that would work as a desktop wallpaper.

HD Michael and Victoria

blogEntryTopper
DAZ 3D released some HD morphs and textures for Michael and Victoria today. They look amazing. It’s just unfortunate that they have to be purchased separately. You’d think at this point that this level of quality would be standard, but I guess DAZ has to make their money too. Not that I’m knocking the standard versions. Looking at renders of Michael 6 and Victoria 6, it’s hard to imagine that they could look any better.

I’m going to do a lot of side-by-side comparisons between the standard-issue M6 and V6 and the new HD versions. I’ll give you the head’s up now, some of theses renders are NSFW. Read More...

Michael 6 Pro Bundle

blogEntryTopper
Michael 6 was finally released today. The bundles went on sale with an introductory 51% off. With the additional 30% off coupon I received from the PC Anniversary MEGA PRIZE, I scored the Pro Bundle for $42.86. Not bad at all. I still think they should have given us Michael 6 for free as the MEGA PRIZE, but I can live with a $125 Pro Bundle for $43 bucks. Read More...
