Time for another Mei Lin render. Something with a little action!
I started out with Mei Lin, gave her the
Battle Kimono outfit, and an action pose.
I dropped in some lights and gave it a test render.
I don’t have any good Asian environments, so I set about making something that looked sort of like it would be where you’d find Mei Lin. I thought some
Tribal Huts, grass and mountains would at least make it look like Vietnam or somewhere in Indonesia.
I then searched online for “asian mountains” and found a pretty decent image. I dropped it into the background and scaled it to fill the frame.
OK, that’s starting to look like something.
I adjusted my depth-of-field and gave it a test render.
Not bad. If she’s hauling ass out of there, I should at least have some bad guys chasing her. Maybe she’s in their terrorizing the enemy camp, or maybe she’s escaping captivity.
I threw four Michael 6s in there and gave them the
Genesis Ranger outfit.
I fitted them with some
crossbows and gave them a running pose.
I didn’t pay much attention to detail here because I know they’re going to be far off in the distance and out of focus.
Another render. I also scattered some arrows in the ground around Mei Lin.
Happy with the render, I then took it into Pixelmator for some post work. I started by adding some fire on the huts.
I then layered in some smoke.
I then gave Mei Lin some dirt and blood.
I found the lighting to be just a tad too yellow. Rather than go back and do another render, I opted to just tweak the colors with some vintage effects. I also added some noise and a slight vignette.
