DAZ just introduced a new character called
Mei Lin. She’s a realistic asian character based off the Genesis 2 Female base; unlike Aiko who is more for the anime crowd. I’m going to have a lot of fun with this character.
I just had to go for the Pro Bundle this time. I don’t have any Asian-themed assets, so the Pro Bundle was a great chance to pick up some matching clothes and hair styles. Normally the Pro bundle will set you back $124.95, but with the 30% introductory discount combined with my Platinum Club discount, I got the Pro Bundle for only $41.98. That’s a steal!
The Pro Bundle comes with a really nice mix to outfits, hair, poses, and characters.
Her’s the base model of Mei Lin with the default texture applied.
She looks pretty good. I don’t care much for the huge areolas, but it’s nothing that can’t be fixed with some morphs, sliders, and textures. How does she compare to Victoria 6?
She’s pretty short. Here she is side-by-side with the Victora 6, both with the SSS turned down to 50%.
I’m not sure if she’s as well-polished as Victoria. I loaded the “regular” Victoria 6, and not the HD version. I figured that would be cheating. DAZ always releases the HD add-on later. Personally, I think that’s double-dipping, but it is what it is. Maybe one day, all figures will be HD “out of the box”.
As far as materials, Mei Lin has 4 different makeup options and 4 different eye colors to choose from.
She also has 3 levels of sub-surface scattering: 25%, 50%, and 75%
Here’s a new one that Victoria doesn’t have: a SSS on/off setting for the mouth.
Here’s a close-up of her torso.
As far as the Genesis 2 Female Genitalia, it (as always) only comes with the Pro Bundle.
Not a huge difference, just a tiny bump. There’s no morphs or adjustments to be had. It’s either there, or it’s not.
Here’s s just a few of the 16 poses that come with the base figure. On top of that, the Pro Bundle comeswith
Cute 'n' Playful Poses for Mei Lin 6,
Mei Lin 6 Battle Fan Pose Set, and
Capsces Poses Mei Lin 6. I won’t get into all of those, there’s just too many.
Now for the hair and outfits.
Cheongsam Dress and
Thian HairCherry Blossom Dress and
Kita HairKazumi and
Choko HairWater MoonNow for the characters. The Pro Bundle comes with 2 characters. First up is
Gogo.
She’s much taller than the base figure. Actually I think she’s the same height as Victoria 6.
Her skin is darker by default. I think she just has an overall nicer face and figure.
She has a ton of makeup options, I won’t show them all, but some of them are pretty crazy.
I mixed things up a bit and just threw a character together. Not bad for 5 minutes of work. Isn’t she a cutie?
The second character to come with the Pro Bundle is
Mayuree. Supposedly she’s an HD character.
She definitely looks pretty detailed. Her skin looks much softer too. The reflection on her eyes is a little high, but it can be turned off. This is the native texture without the HD option applied. I added the HD option and compared the two. I saw absolutely no difference between them. So I don’t know what’s up with that.
Again, she too has a ton of makeup options.
She also has some tattoo options as well as an alternate shader option. However, the alternate shader seems to override any makeup and tattoo options that were previously applied. Applying them afterwards just reapplies the regular shader again.
Finally, I gave her the Thain hair, Kazumi outfit, and a Capsces pose.
I’m going to have a lot of fun with this character. Now if only DAZ would put Lee 6 back on promo pricing!
