DAZ released a new character called
Olympia 6. I’m not sure if she replaces a character or not. I’ve never seen Olympia 1-5. She requires the Geneses 2 Female base. I thought maybe she was the new Gia, but Gia 6 is already out. I guess they’re starting with 6. Josie and Victoria are at version 6 too.
Since she’s so close to Victoria 6, I didn’t feel the need to spend any extra money on a bundle in order to get more clothes, hair etc. I already have so much stuff that I haven’t used yet. I figured I’d just buy the base. She’s normally $39.95, but I got her for $13.58 after a few discounts.
Let’s check her out. Looking at her side-by-side with Victoria 6 it’s easy to see the difference. Olympia is definitely more (as DAZ puts it) curvy, sensuous, and sassy.
The larger breasts, hips and thighs are pretty obvious.
From the side and back it’s much easier to see the difference in their abs and butt.
Not only is her body different, but her head and face is totally different too.
Here’s a few close-ups of her torso to show the detail in the default skin texture. It’s very detailed. The SSS is a little higher than I’d like, but that can be turned down.
I think having a fuller figure will help lend itself to fantasy renders. (Think Greek goddess kind of stuff.)
As far as makeup options, there’s 5 to choose from:
Let’s take her for a spin. I dropped some scenery into the background as well as a sky dome. I then positioned her against the bridge, and changed her hair.
I lowered the SSS on her skin. At 75% her face was just too orange looking. She’s definitely a larger girl. I had to tone down the breast a bit. They were just too big for my liking.
In any case, not bad. Definitely not a super-model; more of an everyday girl. Even DAZ states on their site that she’d be the perfect go-to character for everything from pin-up art to fantasy scenes.
With her curves, I can definitely see her in some Bettie Page-style pin-ups.
DAZ also thinks Olympia would look good in fantasy-goddess renders.
I dressed Olympia up, filled the background, gave her a pose, added some lights, and adjusted my camera.
I agree. She does make for a nice looking fantasy character.
I usually go for the Pro bundles, but I felt like Olympia is just a morph of Victoria 6. It didn’t really make sense to go with a bundle. All the other assets that I have for my other Gen 2 characters will fit, so it didn’t make sense to buy the bundle. I just picked up the base character. It was on sale and I used a coupon, so she only cost me $13 bucks.
