DAZ 3D’s month-long Platinum Anniversary Sale has come to a close. Since I unlocked all the tiers for weeks 1-4, I was awarded the Mega Prize at the end.
The Mega Prize included coupon codes for:
- 30% off Michael 6 Bundles
- 50% off the Ranger Bundle
- $50 off any DAZ Originals
- 50% off all Published Artists’ stores involved in the Platinum Power Up sale.
Michael 6 hasn’t been released yet, but when he comes out later this month, I’ll be able to take an additional 30% off the introductory price.
It was’t long before I used up all my coupons. I killed the $50 off coupon buying the
Victoria 6 Pro Bundle. I picked up some other cool stuff with the 50% off coupon.
As far as the
Ranger Bundle, I just had to have it. The Ranger Bundle is a brand new release. It’s comprised of a Ranger outfit, Ranger hair, Ranger props, and archery poses.
Usually these four items would sell for $64.80 if you bought them individually. You could save a bunch of money by picking up the bundle for $39.95. Luckily for me, I got the bundle for only $9.79 with my Platinum Club discount and the 50% Mega Prize coupon. That’s some serious savings!
For that kind of money, this must be a seriously high-quality bundle. Let’s check it out!
I stared with Victoria 6 and added the Ranger outfit.
I then added the hair, the bow, and the quiver.
I then picked one of the archery poses. It wasn’t perfect. I had to tweak it a bit to get the arrow into the correct position.
That is a very detailed, high quality outfit! You really need to see it up close to appreciate the detail.
It’s a great hairstyle. It’s a little sexy, but still has a slight roughness to it. The feathers are optional, so you can use the hair for other scenes that require that just-rolled-out-of bed look, and not necessarily a woodland warrior.
The detail is great; everything from the buckles, to the stitching, to the leatherwork.
The quiver has several options. There are options to add 1, 2, or 3 arrows. I guess if you wanted to, you could also manually fill it up with arrows. They do come as separate props.
The wood on the bow is excellent. The leather stitching and buckles on the gloves are awesome.
Just like the feathers in the hair, the ones on the boots are very detailed, and very realistic.
So let’s get to it. Let’s put the Ranger in a scene. I wanted to team up a pair of Rangers going up against a hoard of
Infernal Behemoths, or maybe some
goblin creatures, but for now, I’ll just do a solo portrait.
I dropped in some random ruins. The great thing about
Modular Ruins is that you can build pretty much anything that you can imagine. You can really come up with some amazing looking structures.
For the background, I added the
Forest Superior. I then moved it into position so that my ruins were in somewhat of an open area.
I then added some ambient light, as well as a few spotlights.
I don’t know if I would have paid full price for it, but it does look awesome. She’s going to look great in a battle scene.
I also like the fact that you can mix and match. The bow, arrows, and quiver will come in handy elsewhere for other characters.
There’s also an option to hide the pants and just show the boots. With a change in hair and an ear morph, you can instantly turn a Ranger into a cute little Elf!
