DAZ gave away a
pumpkin this week as a freebie. As soon as I saw it, I immediately though a Headless Horseman would look awesome!
For a free pumpkin, it actually comes with a bunch of stuff. It even has a bunch of different colored candles. I’m sure those will even come in handy somewhere else at some point.
There’s also a ton of morphs to change the face to your liking. You can move the lid around, add an inner glow, as well as some rot effects.
Looks cool. Let’s get to it.
First, I’ll need a black horse.
I then dropped in the Freak 5.
I then added the '
Armageddon' outfit and dropped in the pumpkin.
I then hid the Freak’s head and put the pumpkin on top. I then posed him on the horse with a
huge scythe.
I then dropped in the
Forest Superior.
I then started to add my lights.
Let’s give that a render to see how it looks.
That’s cool, but there’s some weirdness happening with the pants, and I’m not really liking the cape. With that, I swapped out the outfit with the
DragonLord outfit and redid the pumpkin.
I was putting it all back together when my 7-year old came in and said, “Dad, that’s cool, but the Headless Horseman is supposed to be carrying the pumpkin, not wearing it like a head! Oh, and it’s a sword, not a scythe”.
You know what? He’s absolutely right! Derrr!
I re-posed the Freak so that he’s holding the pumpkin and swapped out the scythe for a sword.
I then added an orange light to the pumpkin and hid the Freak’s head.
Hum, but now there’s a big hole there. I though it would be cool to be able to see his skeleton and guts inside, so I added the
M4 skeleton and guts...
...and then hid the skull so you can see the bones and the esophagus sticking out.
And another render to see how it looks. It looks awesome!
I then added the forest back in, made a few more tweaks to the lights, added some fog, and gave it another render.
Sweet!
Now for some post work.
I added some glow to the pumpkin as well as a slight reddish tint to the guts.
I added a little sparkle to the blade.
Then, just for some details, I added some fireflies here and there.
Finally, a little vignette.
That looks sick! Happy Halloween!
