Pleased with my previous
Bot Genesis render, I decided to try another one. This time with more skin than chrome. Something a little sexier than just a robot.
I started out with Victoria 5 and added the
Ianthe texture.
I then added all the Bot Genesis parts.
I then posed her, and applied the shaders.
Very nice. However, the way the attachments are made, there’s no way to apply the skin texture to the thighs without also applying it to her butt. Same with the shoulder. Applying the skin texture to the shoulder also put’s some on the torso. I’d like the arms and legs to be skin, but the entire torso to be chrome.
The way around that is to do two renders:
One with mostly chrome...
...and one with mostly skin.
I then layered the two renders in Pixelmator.
I then erased the skin around the shoulder.
Same for her butt. I layered the skin on top of the chrome...
...and then erased the skin.
Perfect. It looks great on the desktop. But I’m not done.
I got to work on adding some crazy sci-fi elements and fonts to make it look like some kind of spec sheet/advertisement for a VickiBot 2000.
I was almost done when I decided it needed one more thing. I hopped back into DAZ Studio and started to work on a second VickiBot.
Just like before, I had to render one with mostly chrome, and one with mostly skin.
I then layered the skin on top of the chrome and erased the parts that I didn’t want.
Same for her thighs. I layered the skin on top of the chrome and erased the portion that I didn’t want.
And the final version. Lookin’ good.
I then dropped her into Pixelmator.
I resized her, added a slight shadow, and some sci-fi elements.
Now that looks cool! I don’t know about you, but I’d buy one!
