It's been a while since I've worked on a render. I've just been so busy with other projects. Not to mention, I spent a week in
Florida on vacation.
I was waiting for some PCBs to come in
for a project, so the time was right to start up a new render. I wanted to do a sexy nude render. Just a simple pose, but something artistic. I started with Victoria 6, a pose, and a marble column.
I added some lights and gave her skin a wet texture.
I didn't like the hair, so I started playing with some that looked better blowing in the wind. I played with the lights, the skin, and the makeup until I had a feel for what I was going for. But as usual, I just couldn't leave well enough alone. I ended up ditching the column in favor of an Asian temple. I just really liked the red trees that came with the set.
I then adjusted my camera angle and gave it a test render.
Wow. That's pretty telling. My wife will kill me if she sees this. She doesn't care about the nudity, it's just that if one of the kids walks in while I'm working on it, I'm going to have some explaining to do.
It's looking pretty good; not bad for a "rough draft", but the skin texture and lighting are all wrong. I kept at it until I was happier with the results.
Much better.
The background still needed a little something, so I dropped in some mountains and adjusted the depth of field on the camera.
Very nice. But it's not just the background that's missing something. It's the foreground too. That might be just a little bit
too much nudity!
I like nudity just as much as the next guy, but I can't just render out nudity for the sake of nudity. Especially when it comes to showing bush. It can be sexy and risqué, but it has to also be artistic. There has to be a little left to the imagination.
With that, I added another tree to the foreground and strategically placed it to provide just enough coverage to let your imagination take over.
Yowzers! That's the one. You might not be able to see it on the 620x930 resolution image, but when it's rendered out at 2560x3840, it's pretty amazing. Those leaves are covering just enough for you to go, “Rats!”.
I then took the render into Pixelmator and added some after effects.
I was so happy with the results, that I wanted to post it to the Gallery over at DAZ 3D, but they have a "no nudity" policy. I had to throw some cloths on for a 2nd render. Keeping with the Asian theme, I dressed Victoria up in the
Dayala outfit.
Since she was dressed, there was no need to keep the tree in the foreground. I ditched it for this render.
Very nice. I wanted to put the matching boots on her too, but the Dayala assets are actually for V4. Victoria 4 shoes always just get chewed up when trying to auto-fit them to Genesis 2 Females. I didn't want to spend hours fixing it, so I left her barefoot.
Just like the nude render, it came out great. However, I can't put a portrait render on the desktop either. I changed the camera's aspect ratio to 16:9 to match my desktop.
Now that's one I can display on the desktop without catching grief from my wife.
I took it into Pixelmator and added my after effects. Awesome.
After I had it displayed on my desktop, my wife walked in, took one look and said, "Honey, you know I hate redheads, right?"
The funny thing is, I actually knew that and totally forgot about it. I laughed out loud. I went to all the trouble of putting clothes on her so my wife wouldn't have a snide comment to make, and it was the hair color she commented on. I just can't win!
