Seiko 5 - SNK393K

WatchesOooh, what can this be?
Check out this nice Seiko 5 that my son picked up for me for Christmas. He's only 12, but he asked my wife if she could buy it so he could give it to me for Christmas. Isn't that sweet?
It's a SNK393K. It has a 37mm case with the 7S26 movement. That's the same movement as my
SNK809. I like the 12 and 6 numerals. Without then, I think it would look too similar to my
SARB033.
It's really not bad looking. It's no show stopper, but I'm happy with it. Hey, it's a Seiko. You can never have enough Seikos. It's a pretty nice automatic for $99 bucks. (It has a suggested retail price of $295. However, no one charges the sticker price.)
Seiko 5's come with two languages for the day. This one has Arabic in addition to English; which is strange because it's usually Spanish. (Like on my SNK809.) I guess when it comes to buying watches on Amazon, you get what you get. They don't really go into that kind of detail with the specs.
There's the exhibition caseback showing the 7S26 movement. No hacking, no manual wind, but a generous 43 hour power reserve.
The bracelet on this one leaves much to be desired. Rolled links. These are an absolute pain to take out. You have to find the smallest screwdriver you can and get it right in that slot to the left of the arrows and use a fair amount of force to push out the pins that hold the links together. The bracelet was huge, so I had to take out a few links from each side.
Now it has a much better fit. Not bad. Not too dressy, not too casual. The bracelet really is cheap and I'm not sure if I like the jingly-jangly feel it has. This watch might look much better on a black leather strap.
