I admit it: I'm a total geek. I love electronics, programming, 3D printing, 3D art, and vintage Apple hardware. I'm always juggling half a dozen projects. I also enjoy documenting it all: my successes, my failures, my experiences... and everything geeky along the way.

The 2014 Scottish Games

My wife kicked off with the kids to her friend’s house for the weekend. While I’d love some peace and quiet to work on PCBs, 3D renders, and code, I figured I’d bugger off and do something too.

While I treasure my “me time”, this is also the weekend that the Capitol District Scottish Games are held. It’s been running for 37 years, but my sister and I only found out about it in 2006. We went in 2006, 2007, and 2008. I think she’s gone one or two more times without me. I just got busy with work, the wife, the kids, and life. I mean to go every year, but stuff always comes up. It’s no help that it always falls on Labor Day Weekend.

My brother lives on the west coast and he’s even been to a few games out there. So I think I need to start going again. Any excuse to wear my kilt. Gotta represent!

I just can’t believe it’s been 6 years already.

From the pipe bands, to the caber toss, to the IRN-BRU and haggis puffs, we had a blast.

Oh, and if anyone’s wondering....here’s how you toss a caber!
