23" 3D Printed Victoria 8 Figurine - Part VI

3D Printing | Laser CuttingFor the shoes, I started with a rough shape just so I could nail down how long the straps needed to be.
I laser cut it out of poster board and added the hardware. It took a few cuts to get it just right. I didn't want to risk damaging the figurine while trying to make the shoes, so I printed some additional feet to use as fixtures.
Once I had everything nailed down, I cleaned the whole thing up and added some details.
One last test fit before committing to cut them out of leather. Looks good.
I then cut them out of leather and added the hardware.
I cut the soles out of leather too.
I engraved a space on the left foot so I can glue a paperclip to it. This will allow me to bend the toes up to conform to the shape of the foot.
I then cut out some thin leather to go on top.
I stained the thin leather pieces with wood stain just to grunge them up a bit.
I then used the feet as gluing fixtures.
Those came out awesome. They are way better than the
last shoes that I made for the other figurine. If it wasn't for the keyboard, you'd think these were real.
The embedded paperclip worked perfectly. I was able to bend the toes up to conform to the shape of the foot.
Looking good. It's almost complete!
